Daniel Banck	4ef9684188	Rework most of the configuration loading ... We previously used a loader -> BuildConfig flow to load configuration. This commit changes most (but not all yet) flows to use the new graph-based approach. Instead of simply recursively loading the modules, we now need to take a stepped approach: 1. Load the root module 2. Collect the variables and their values 3. Build the configuration with the graph-based approach Because this approach relies on different parts from different packages, it can't easliy be done within the `configload` package. Martin Atkins	9f6a3ba701	build: Generate copyright headers automatically ... HashiCorp legal now requires a copyright claim in a comment at the top of every substantial file in this repository. If we don't add this ourselves then a bot will open a PR to add missing entries, but that process adds git history, pull request, and GitHub notification noise so instead we'll deal with it proactively as part of our usual code generation steps. This means that pull requests will fail their checks if there are any files that lack copyright headers, so we can deal with those before we merge rather than in a subsequent PR.	3 years ago

Martin Atkins	d76759a6a9	configs/configload: snapshotDir must be used via pointer ... A snapshotDir tracks its current position as part of its state, so we need to use it via pointer rather than value so that Readdirnames can actually update that position, or else we'll just get stuck at position zero. In practice this wasn't hurting anything because we only call Readdir once on our snapshots, to read the whole directory at once. Still nice to fix to avoid a gotcha for future maintenence, though.	5 years ago
Martin Atkins	31349a9c3a	Move configs/ to internal/configs/ ... This is part of a general effort to move all of Terraform's non-library package surface under internal in order to reinforce that these are for internal use within Terraform only. If you were previously importing packages under this prefix into an external codebase, you could pin to an earlier release tag as an interim solution until you've make a plan to achieve the same functionality some other way.	5 years ago
