Boost::date_time has changed to throwing a std::out_of_range instead of a
boost::date_time::gregorian::bad_year when a date is outside of the
1400-9999 year range it can deal with.
We also recently discovered that it will use the system localtime function
when creating a new date which can lead to a 2038 failure. Use std::chrono
to resolve that problem.
xaccSplitComputeCapGains creates gains_split pointers in both the Cap Gains Split and its Income split to the original split, but the original's gains_split pointer can point to only one of them, the Cap Gains split. When the original split is freed both the Cap Gains split's and its Income split need their gains_split pointers NULLed or when it's the Income split's turn to be freed it will try to deref the dangling pointer.
This is responsible for test failures on DST transition days.
See the comments in gnc-timezone.cpp for an explanation of why this is
correct. The rubric was tested on macOS, Arch Linux, Debian Unstable,
Fedora 33, and Ubuntu 18.04 to confirm universal applicability.
There are a very few left that need deeper study, but this gets
rid of most of the noise. For the most part it's just getting rid of
extra variables or removing an assignment that is always
replaced later but before any reads of the variable. A few are
discarded result variables.
Casting a char* to a struct containing a uint32_t is not universally safe
due to alignment constraints on reads on some platforms. Copy our possibly
unaligned source data into an aligned area of memory to avoid SIGBUS on
armhf.
Reported by vorlonofportland in PR#403. This commit the John's optimized
version of Vorlon's proposed fix.
Also Bug 791825 - Accounting Period dates off by 1.
The DST start/end dates were reversed *and* the DST offset had the wrong
sign in Windows, resulting in the effective timezone always being one to
the west off (i.e. PDT was -9 and PST was -8).
It is split into
- /libgnucash (for the non-gui bits)
- /gnucash (for the gui)
- /common (misc source files used by both)
- /bindings (currently only holds python bindings)
This is the first step in restructuring the code. It will need much
more fine tuning later on.
