When possible downstream workers will include their worker id information in the connections they establish with the upstream using the nodeenrollment library. Because the fields in the database are signed 64-bit integers, it's theoretically possible to overflow them if we're using unsigned 64-bit integers in the application code.	4 years ago

With this commit, the Worker now sends BytesUp and BytesDown for each of the connections it handles to the Controller in the Status request. The Controller then persists these fields to the database. There is also a new trigger to prevent bytes_up and bytes_down to change after a connection has been closed, as the last update to a session_connection row should be the one that is performed as part of the connection closure process.	4 years ago

It also avoids potential issues with building buf given our own internal dependency constraints. This has caused issues (including crashes!) in the past. Jeff Mitchell	a6cca576a3	Attempt canceling sessions by the client (#831) ... * Attempt canceling sessions by the client In some circumstances (like a Ctrl-C), the client knows it's shutting down and the TOFU token will be lost. In this case it makes sense to cancel the session rather than have it time out. This introduces a command enum to the handshake message which can be used for the client to send commands to the worker -- in this case the only specified command is to cancel the session. It doesn't occur if the session is already timed out or if we can't authorize connections as this generally means the session is already invalid.	5 years ago
