Timothy Messier	dd23f6fdbf	Update websocket library (#3908 ) The nhooyr/websocket library now has a release with the new default behavior that removes the message size limit. This allows us to switch off of the fork and back to the upstream. In the same release that includes the fix we need for the boundary client, the wspb helper package was removed from websocket. This package contained some functions to read and write protobuf messages. However, it was using the deprecated github.com/golang/protobuf/proto library. To avoid this dependancy in the library they opted to just remove wspb. Thus this provides a replacement implementation that uses google.golang.org/protobuf/proto. Notably the newer proto library seems to lack an equivalent of proto.NewBuffer so writes to the websocket and not able to leverage a sync.Pool of byte.Buffers to reduce allocations. Jeff Mitchell	fb4a5a98dc	Add some target fields and move some things around (#3879 ) In preparation for putting proxy code in the api package this creates some necessary fields in the target output and it pre-moves credential parsing and proxy handshake code to their new places. Michael Li	067530cdbf	fix(test): Retry websocket connection due to flaky failure (#2584 ) We have observed several unit tests occasionally fail when trying to read a handshake due to the following error: failed to read protobuf message: failed to get reader: received close frame: status = StatusProtocolError and reason = "received header with unexpected rsv bits set: false:false:true" After an investigation, it's still unclear how this happens. We are opting to just retry to mitigate the flakiness.	4 years ago

Todd	472d7d520a	Remove the server_id from session table, change it to worker_id on session_connection (#2070 ) * Remove the server_id from session table, change it to worker_id on session_connection This is step 1 in updating the worker table. The worker is becoming a public resource so it must have a public id. We drop the server_id column on the session_connection table and add the worker_id column so we can use the wt_public_key type. Since db migrations are applied while the controller is offline, it should be safe to assume all session connections are not in a running state, thus allowing us to null out all the worker ids in the session_connection table. For now we don't have very good enforcement of the wt_public_id constraints, since the id is currently defined in the worker config, but this will soon change and the worker's id will be generated by the controller.	4 years ago

Chris Marchesi	a15961e461	Close connections on worker on shutdown, add force shutdown (#1354 ) This adds functionality to ensure that connections are closed on a worker when the server is shut down or reloaded. Connections are closed, and then the shutdown process waits for the next report to the controller to go through, waiting the grace period that was added in #1330. The rest of shutdown is then proceeded with. Listener shutdown has been moved to the start of the process to ensure that new connections can't be made while we are shutting down. Additionally, functionality has been added to force shut down servers after a second interrupt has been received after the first one. This takes the form of code in both the server and dev mode code paths that just performs an os.Exit if another shutdown is received during the normal shutdown process. Additionally, the commit also includes some refactoring to tests so that we could use some of the new E2E testing code to test session connections during shutdown and reload. Additionally, this fixes a panic in worker startup when there are no controllers defined. Looks like the shutdown call was attempting to call into the controller, not the worker. Finally, this also removes the extra shutdown within the outer worker startup. Shutdown is actually handled within the inner StartWorker(), attempting shutdown on errors was actually leading to potential use of an uninitialized worker, which is leading to panics in testing.	5 years ago
